PROPOSAL

The Philippine Senate Climate Change Committee action agenda for 2010 is to focuson Youth Impact in the Philippine Climate Movement. The committee is headed by Sen. Loren Legarda. In order to do so, we launched our educational campaign, byvisiting every school campus in the Philippines to inform them on Climate Change.

YOUTH MOBILIZATION

Since we have the opportunity and support to do this, this would be a great opportunity to develop PHILYCM. As we're visiting every campus, we will be recruiting members for the Philippine Youth Climate Movement.

CLIMATE HERO FORUM

Climate Hero's first started after the typhoon Ondoy. To honor those
who helped the victims rehabilitate from Ondoy. We wanted to develop
this program amongst the youth to support them on their environmental
activism. The purpose of the 'Climate Hero' forum is to award the young
environmental stewards in Climate Change to encourage them on their
work and leadership. As we award 'Climate- Heroes' in each school,
they will be in charge of ensuring that the PhilYCM chapter in their campus develops.

EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN

At the Climate Hero Forum, we will be showing, “Now is the Time a documentary by the United Nations International Strategy on Disaster Reduction on the need to take immediate and comprehensive action to address growing disaster risks brought about by climate change. Youth education on climate change through nationwide film viewing, photo exhibit and distribution of information materials.
